I used to be a paraglider pilot – I have a trophy for being the best ‘newcomer’ in the South-East of England! – but it didn’t provide enough of an adrenaline buzz for me, and one day when I was hanging around in the sky a bit bored, I saw someone one the ground riding a horse and I thought ‘that’s the person I want to be’ – ‘a woman’s place is on a horse’ so I swapped the paraglider for a horse – not literally.
I consider myself to be very lucky having a job I still adore after 20 years. I do colouring in and sticking down mostly, it’s changed a bit with the computer age, but still the same basic skills are required.
